Retro Bicycles is a partnership between Michael Austin and Mel Platt. Returning home from their London Peking Bicycle Odyssey with an acclaimed portfolio of images, we set up Spare Tyre Publications and produced the award winning postcard books.
From there we have created the Retro Bicycle collection to celebrate the history of bicycles. All our products are created from original designs from the days when cars were an unfamiliar luxury.
Hand crafted in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, England, each piece is Hallmarked, a guarantee of quality. Our products are traditionally made using the lost wax method of casting and supplied in a presentation gift box.
Secure transmission and processing of credit cards
Our process has been developed to provide you with complete peace of mind.
Credit card details are handled securely throughout the buying process, when you have the goods you want in your basket, you continue to the secure server to enter your card details for the transaction.
When you have finished adding goods to your shopping basket you are taken to a form on our secure server where you are asked for your credit card details. These are then stored on the secure server, along with your order, and we are notified of their arrival. We then download your order and card details securely from the secure server and enter them manually onto a credit card terminal.
Shipping Costs
Our shipping costs are calculated and shown as you order, they vary according to the size of the item being shipped. Below is a note of how this works out:

If you order the Flying Lady or the Sporting Gent from outside the UK then we will weigh your order and confirm the postage costs with you. We will not charge you or send your order without confirmation of the final price. Please note that we aim to keep these costs to a minimum.
